Meet the Founder
Hello and welcome. My name is Tom. I have been in the automotive parts, service, and autobody repair industry since 1987. My career began working at a diesel repair shop, gaining experience with heavy equipment and performing maintenance and repairs on big trucks under the guidance of a shop full of great mentors.
Next, I transitioned to a parts store, where I built relationships with local repair shops and honed my customer service skills. This chapter of my career also included automotive machine work and hydraulics for both automotive and larger machinery. In 1994, I moved into the world of new car dealerships, staying within retail while growing my expertise and forging lasting industry relationships.
My first management role was in a dealership collision center. After a few years, I returned to my roots by leading the parts department. My experience managing the collision center allowed me to reimagine what was possible behind a parts counter. Later, I took on the challenge of managing a very busy service department, overseeing 80-100 customers and vehicles per day, 22 technicians, and 7 service advisors. Along the way, I’ve received training from ASE, I-Car, GM, Subaru, and Honda, among others.
Today, I support two service departments, two parts departments, a collision center, and facilitate all warranty claims. I’ve been fortunate to learn and grow throughout my career in the retail automotive industry, and I’m excited to share my experience and insights with you through Auto Link Technician.
